Introducing the Simple Financial Client Portal

James Whitfield - May 18, 2026

Your loan should feel like yours, not ours. Today we’re putting it back in your hands.

The new Simple Financial Client Portal is live — one secure dashboard where you can defer a payment, check your balance, apply for a top-up, or claim a freshly-approved loan without sending us a single email.

This is the first major update in what’s going to be a long series. The portal is something we’ll keep improving aggressively over the coming months — more features, more control, more visibility — based on what customers actually use and ask for. What launched today is the foundation. There’s a lot more on the way.

If you’ve borrowed from us before, your portal account is already set up — just log in with the email address you used to apply.

What you can actually do (with real features, today)

1. See your loan at a glance

The dashboard shows everything that matters in one view: your current balance, your next payment amount and due date, how many days are left on your loan term, and your overall payment progress. No more wondering “wait, when exactly is the next debit?”

2. Defer a payment with one tap

Things happen. A late paycheque, an unexpected bill, a sick day. Instead of emailing us at 11pm and waiting until morning for a reply, the portal has a “Defer my payment” button right on the dashboard. Tap, confirm, done. We’ll email you the new schedule within a minute.

3. Track every application from start to finish

Every application you’ve started shows up under Recent applications with a clear status:

  • Draft — you started but didn’t finish. Click Continue to pick up where you left off.
  • In review — you submitted. We’re looking at it.
  • Approved — awaiting signature — we said yes. Click Claim now to e-sign and trigger the e-Transfer.
  • Funded — the money’s on its way to your bank.

You always know exactly where you stand. No guessing, no follow-up emails.

4. Returning customers: borrow up to 50% more

Here’s the one most customers will care about most. Once you’ve paid off a loan with Simple Financial, you’re eligible for our Customer Loyalty Bonus — up to 50% higher loan amounts on your next application. Your previous repayment history with us proves you’re reliable, and we reward that.

The portal shows your loyalty status on the dashboard automatically. If you’ve paid off a previous loan, you’ll see a higher available amount the moment you start a new application.

5. Auto-Pay you can verify

Auto-Pay is enabled by default for every Simple Financial loan. The portal confirms which account we’ll debit (showing the last 4 digits), so you can verify before the payment date. Need to switch banks? Update it from the portal and the next debit routes to the new account.

6. Faster e-Transfer collection

When your loan is approved and funds are sent, the final screen shows you direct quick-links to Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or iCloud so you can jump straight to your inbox and accept the Interac e-Transfer. Most customers go from approved to funded in under 60 seconds from this screen.

7. Quick contact when you need a human

Most of what you need is self-serve. When it isn’t, the Need Help? card is always one click from anywhere in the portal — goes straight to our 24/7 support team.

Why we built it

When we launched, every customer interaction happened over email. Want to defer a payment? Email us. Check your balance? Email us. Update your bank info? Email us with a void cheque attached.

That worked when we were small. As we grew, it stopped working. Simple tasks took 24 hours when they should have taken 30 seconds. The portal fixes that — self-serve for the 90% of things you should be able to do in seconds, with our team still available 24/7 for the 10% that needs us.

How it’s secured

  • Bank-grade encryption — everything you do in the portal is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Two-factor authentication available — turn on 2FA from settings to require a phone code on every login.
  • Magic-link login — you can also log in via a one-time email link, no password required.
  • Session timeout — the portal automatically logs you out after inactivity.
  • PIPEDA compliant — we follow Canada’s federal privacy law for everything we collect, store, and share.

How to get started

If you’ve borrowed from us, your account is already set up:

  1. Visit the portal login page
  2. Enter the email you used to apply
  3. We’ll send a one-time login link — click it and you’re in
  4. Set a password and turn on 2FA (recommended)

If you haven’t borrowed yet, your portal account is created automatically when your first Ontario loan is approved.

This is just the first update — many more coming

What launched today is the foundation, not the finished product. The Client Portal is a long-term project for us, and we’re shipping updates aggressively. Here’s a peek at what’s already in the pipeline:

  • Real-time eligibility — see if you qualify for a top-up the moment your income or balance shifts, before you even start an application.
  • Referral tracking — invite friends and watch your referral credits accrue inside the portal.
  • Weekly MyPay controls — pause, resume, or adjust your Weekly MyPay directly from the dashboard.
  • Open banking integration — once Canada’s framework opens to lenders, connect your bank once and let us approve future loans in seconds.
  • In-portal document signing — e-sign loan agreements without leaving the dashboard.
  • Push notifications — get notified the second your loan is approved or your repayment is processed.
  • Spending insights — understand where your money goes between paydays.

We’ll announce each feature here as it ships. Expect frequent updates — you’ll see the portal change a lot over the next few months.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to sign up separately for the portal?

No. If you’ve borrowed from us, your portal account is already linked to your email. Just request a login link.

Can I defer more than one payment?

Yes, but each deferral request is reviewed individually. The portal makes the request; we confirm by email. Repeated deferrals may affect your loyalty status.

What does “up to 50% higher loan amounts” actually mean?

If your first Simple Financial loan was for $400 and you paid it off on time, on your next application you may be eligible for up to $600. Exact amounts depend on your income, income verification, and provincial maximums (Ontario caps payday loans at $1,500 regardless of loyalty status).

Can BC customers use the portal?

Not yet — we’re not lending in BC yet. The portal opens to BC customers the day our BC license is approved. Join the BC waitlist.

I lost access to the email I used to apply. What do I do?

Contact our support team — we’ll verify your identity and update your portal email manually.
